Wild, Wild West Sussex

Who said, ‘Nostalgia isn’t what it used to be’? We’re not sure, but they’d obviously never been to the Goodwood Revival. A three-day celebration of motorsport’s golden age held on Britain’s greatest motorsport estate, the Revival is the most fun you can have while wearing racing overalls – and our annual programme is as essential to the event as the classic cars, fabulous fashion and vintage fairground rides. It’s a giddy mix of great stories, stunning photography and sheer daftness. And, as with all the programmes we produce for Goodwood’s flagship motorsport events, it’s the perfect companion for a memorable weekend in the countryside.

Shooting from the hip

For the 2024 Revival, the Goodwood circuit was transformed into Wild Wild West Sussex for a celebration of cowboy culture. So we couldn’t resist dipping into the Northstar toybox for the visual look and feel of our programme cover, tipping our ten-gallon hats to a time when every child went out to play with a cap gun and a shiny sheriff’s badge.

Never out of style

Like the thousands who attend the event dressed to the nines in vintage fashion, our programme is inspired by a range of eras and styles. From post-war Make Do and Mend to the ‘space-age’ fashions of the 1960s, via D-Day, Big Brother and the romantic nostalgia of a Jackie magazine-style photo love story, it’s a time capsule of British culture that echoes the variety and irreverence of the Revival experience.

Shared passion

But however playful our programme is, it still has to be an informed, authoritative companion to a serious historic race meeting. Northstar’s long-standing relationship with Goodwood is based on a shared passion for motorsport. Our work for them – be it a prestige souvenir hardback, or the programmes we produce every year for the world-famous Festival of Speed – is always a celebration of the great cars, bikes, drivers and riders who have graced the Goodwood circuit past and present.
